Singapore has lots of places of interests but there is this particular place which seems to be the better one. It is the
Singapore Zoo. This zoo homes to about 2530 species of animals and plants combined. 16% of the animals are threatened species.
On 23 June1973, the Singapore Zoo opened its gates for the first time with a collection of 270 animals from over 72 species, and a staff of 130.
By 1990, 1,600 animals from more than 160 species lived in social groups, housed in 65 landscaped exhibits with boundaries conceived to look as natural as possible.
At the Singapore Zoo, there are lots of activities happening there. These activities don't usually occur everyday.It's good to have some of these activities because it would be more worth it with those activities. Some examples of these activities are:
1) Splash Safari
2) Elephants At Work & Play
3) Kidz Gone Wild
These activities happen in different parts of the zoo but all of them are free.
The admission fees differ for the adults and the children and eventhough the prices may be a little expensive it's still worth it.
You can stay in the zoo for as long as you want till the zoo closes.
The admission fees are as follow :
1) Adults - $16.50
2) Children - $8.50
The operation hours are from 8.30am to 6pm and it is open even on public holidays.
To get there simply take the MRT (Mass Rapid Transport) to Choa Chu Kang Station (*NSL 4), then board SMRT bus 927 which takes you all the way to the zoo. An alternative way is to take the MRT to Ang Mo Kio station (*NSL 16), then board the SBS bus 138 and it shall reach the zoo.
